PHUKET, THAILAND 
A Paradise on the Beach

A vacation to the breathtaking scenery, beautiful beaches, water sports, delicious food and drinks, and the spas and messages in Phuket, Thailand has always been my dream vacation. 

These are some photos of the resorts in Phuket that many tourists stay at during their visits. Relaxing environment and top notch service are some of the best qualities about visiting Phuket resorts. This is something I have dreamed about for many years that hopefully one day I can have my dream vacation come true. I would love to tan on the beaches, and go back to the resort for some relaxing downtime! 

I am very thankful that I can soon fulfill one of things on my bucket list. With graduation fast approaching, Phuket - MY DREAM VACATION is finally going to become a reality and dream come true!

Here is my plan:

I will be flying from Toronto to Hong Kong, where I usually spend my summers with my relatives and grandparents. From Hong Kong, I will fly to Phuket, Thailand. I am planning this dream vacation to take place sometime in July. Phuket is warm all year round, and July is one of the best times to go especially being a water sports fan! Combining my personality with the nature of this tourist location, I can go on forever about my excitement because Phuket Island is filled with activities and scenery that I absolutely love. 

As I envision in my head about the perfect vacation, I would love to wake up to beautiful sunshine and the beaches. 

From the feedback I have heard from friends and relatives about their experiences in Phuket, I am excited about the exotic Thai flavours and fresh coconut drinks.

From gourmet meals with abundance of fresh seafood and fruits, to the casual strolls on the busy streets, Phuket is filled with endless restaurants and street eats that I cannot wait to try!

There is a very famous tourist attraction called the Phang Nga Bay, which I will definitely be visiting. The emerald-green water and the limestone karsts that jut vertically out are the distinctive features at Phang Nga Bay. 

I have heard many fantastic stories about this famous spot. By far the best means of enjoying the beautiful scenery is to take hop on the boats and cruise through the dramatic limestone islands. The photos alone are enough to take my breath away, so I am very excited about seeing the limestone islands in person.  

Another MUST-SEE: The Phi Phi Islands!

This is where I plan on spending most of my afternoons. Phi Phi Island is Thailand's island-superstar. It's also been in movies, and it's the topic of conversation for travelers visiting Thailand. People even call it love at first sight. I'm super thrilled to be seeing the Phi Phi Island soon and I'm excited to find out what my own reaction will be!

Phuket Water Sports are well-known for its clear water and weather. 

• Jet Skiing - available at most of the island's major beaches, so I can enjoy jet skis along with along activities at the beaches.

• Banana Boat - cannot wait to take on this fun challenge with my friends on the same banana boat going at superb speed! 

• Scuba Diving - Phuket Island is among the top 10 scuba diving destinations in the world! I have never scuba dived before, it will mean that much more being able to try it for the first time on my dream vacation. I believe I won't be disappointed because of the interesting unusual underwater rock formations and huge variety of marine life. (http://www.phuket.com/diving/)

• Kite-surfing - this is an extreme sport that is one of the fastest growing in Phuket! Shallow waters and gentle breezes by the coast gives this extreme sport an elegant side. Very anxious to give this a try as well! 

To unwind...What better way than an authentic Thai massage!

Thailand has a long heritage of traditional massage that is very well-known, especially in Asia. A traditional Thai massage does not use any oil but instead stimulates the pressure points found all over the body. (http://phuket.thaivisa.com/massage-in-phuket/)

My aunts and uncles have been really emphasizing that I must experience a traditional Thai massage at least once a day while I am there. They also praised the professional masseuses for their skills. They were very relaxed and the massage got rid of their tiredness after a long day under the sun, which is something I will definitely look for after a fun, long day. 

Spa - another element famous in Thailand. Spas in Thailand are a popular phenomenon in which I have been wishing to experience. I am really looking forward to this amazing experience.

Bangla Road -- The nightlife in Thailand sounds to be very entertaining and never disappoints with bars packed all year round! Definitely excited to party there and be in the outdoors most of the time since bars are located one next to another! I've heard from different friends and cousins that the drinks are cheap and the environment is friendly and lively all night long. My housemates who are also my closest friend will be going on this graduation trip together, and all of us are looking forward to comparing the Phuket experience with our Western experience, in terms of the partying! : ) 

Nights where we just take it easy and admire the sunset, is something incredibly beautiful that I have loved since little, and cannot wait to experience it on my dream vacation in Phuket.  

As the vacation comes to an end, not only will I have checked off another off my bucket list, it will also be a reflection on a lot of things and the next stage in life! As long as I have been hoping one day for this vacation to come true, I have never imagined for it to happen at the best time. I think it is going to mean a lot more spending it with my closest friends who all experienced the last four incredibly years of undergraduate student life together. 

This is not my blog; this is not just my assignment to hand in for geography of tourism. It is something that this assignment inspired me to create and I am glad that this happened. With so many of the visuals throughout this post and the words attached to each, they are my true feelings that one day when I look back upon this post, I will be grateful that I have a lot of memories to hold onto. 

The way I structured this post is comparable to a mirror image to one of which I am hoping for my vacation to turn out. Therefore, this is really special because I can see how my tourist experience actually will unfold in July and see if any of my feelings have changed or grew even stronger after the fact.
